Volkswagen is rolling out some big news for all of its 2018 models. The German automaker already made headlines earlier this year when it unveiled America’s best bumper-to-bumper warranty on its Atlas and Tiguan SUV models. But now it’s taking things to a new level. From here out, VW will extend its People First Warranty to almost all 2018 models.

3 Fast Facts about Volkswagen’s People First Warranty
It’s America’s best bumper-to-bumper warranty
And we do mean the best. The People First Warranty, which includes coverage for powertrain components, runs for six years or 72,000 miles. At this length, the warranty expansion doubles the standard set by most industry brands.
But the “People’s First” warranty bests competitors in other areas, too…
Unlike those offered by most other auto brands, the 6-year / 72,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty is transferable. So, why is that a big deal? While most competitors offer warranties that lose their value after the first owner, VW’s People First Warranty is transferable to owners for up to the 6-year or 72,000-mile limit of the vehicle’s original purchase.
Nearly all models are included
Only the Volkswagen e-Golf, the plug-in electric model, is excluded from the new warranty program. That means you can enjoy the benefits of the People First Warranty on the Beetle, Jetta, Passat, and the rest of the Golf family. But while the e-Golf is exempt from the new warranty extension, it still carries its original 3-year / 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage, with powertrain components covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles.
