And the winner is: the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan. Cargo versatility, comfort features, and available 4MOTION® All-Wheel Drive earned the Tiguan the “Best Compact SUV of 2017” distinction in a highly-competitive field. It beat out the following tough competitors to the top of the podium:
- 2017 Honda CR-V
- 2017 Mazda CX-5
- 2017 Ford Escape
- 2017 Chevy Equinox

And the winner is: the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. The Atlas was pitted against a who’s who of midsize SUVs in the Cars.com Challenge and came out as the clear winner thanks to a potent engine and a spacious, relaxing ride. Here’s a list of the prestigious SUVs that fell short despite a valiant effort:
